New Designs added to range …

Customer requests often lead to new designs being added to my range. This month a new Defender model has been added , along with a design perfect for gifting as a thank you to someone who has cared for your dog.

A customer who has a ‘set’ of defenders from across the eras, wanted a further cushion to complete his set. This new shape Defender, needed a new full set of templated to suit its new chunky design. The detail on the bodywork and headlights really bring the design to life.

Looking for that special gift to say ‘Thank You’ to someone who’s helped with caring for your Dog. Let them know they are Fairy Dog Parents with this cute Paw and Heart Cushion.

Classic car cushions don’t stay on my sight for long. A run on Moggie Minors caller for more stock to be created. These 2 editions have been added, they each stand out on the contrasting backing fabrics.

As usual all the designs are individual, mainly due to my aim to up-cycle and repurpose fabrics. This focus means I don’t just buy materials off the role but purchase excess stock and end of roles, ensuring the most ethical use of materials, whilst keeping my cost at the best possible prices to pass on to my customers.

Planning that Wedding …

After recently having a run on wedding themed vehicle cushions, I’ve added some new stock to my shop….

The cloud blue fabric has been such a hit, so I’ve kept it just for wedding cushions. it fits most colour schemes. Also creating in is some great off white canvas I picked up from the remnants area in The Little Fabric Shop in Skipton on a recent trip.

Not only have I added some new stock to the defender wedding cushions, I’ve also added a couple of different models. Don’t forget any of my designs can be made into wedding cushions, you can match your vehicle and or wedding colour scheme.

Following a recent bespoke order for a very early model I’ve now added the series 1 to my range of off the shelf cushions.

Autumn means things are starting to get busy …

Hear some ideas of my recent work…. there will be new of off the shelf 4WD cushions added to my web site over the next few days and a selections added to Etsy in due course, unless they are snapped up here first.

This recent order shows how you can request custom detail to suit our needs. not only did the customer want a certain model of 4×4, the dog was family member that needed including. With the vehicle currently away for refurb and we managed to source some of the new upholstery fabric to include an accent strip down the front. Lastly an upgrade to the cushion backs so they were in the same fabric as the front.

Finding a thoughtful and personalised gift for someone who has developed dementia can be difficult.

An alternative to the Twiddle Muff, Twiddle Rugs are individually designed. Items to touch move are incorporated with different textured fabrics. All designed a personal themes that can help trigger memories. This design was for a motor enthusiast , with a love of engineering and gardening.

The finished rugs are approx 18″x18″.

Lunch out at a local interior designs showroom, has meant I’ve sourced some terrific sample fabric books. So if you want that Bike or Vehicle in a specific colour drop me a line. I’m sure we can find something to match.

It’s easy to purchase and download any of my knitting patterns here at Dizzy Tyke Designs. Also my free patterns are only available from this platform.

However, many people prefer to buy from dedicated knitting platforms and store their purchased designs online. With that in mind remember my patterns can be bought through Love Crafts and Ravelry.

From May Worldwide Delivery is coming back along with a new product range.

Now mail services around the world seem to have settled back down, I will be brining back the option to purchase and or have your goods delivered worldwide. if you purchase more than one time, the system will only charge postage on the one item with the highest postage cost.

I’m also brining in an option to pay postage on UK items, these are currently post free, but as we all know that means the postage is built into the price. This is not fair on folks who want to order more than one item.

All post will still be via Tracked Royal Mail

New Product Range Coming Soon ….

Having ethically sources some amazing stock of relatively small pieces of off cut fabrics, laces and decorations, I’ve begun to develop a new product range. These will include surface tidy bags, in several sizes and plant pot covers. These will also be a special range of Bride and Wedding Day tidies, as many brides now get ready at the venue with their bridesmaids and other special ladies attending the event, the tidies will ensure you all have everything in the right place when you need it to help keep the calm atmosphere at this and memorable event.

Wow March is here already and nearly spring !

It’s been a busy few month here at Dizzy Tyke Designs, with yoga studios updating their kit for my firm bolster cushions and washable covers. Also, lots of folk thinking positivity towards spring when they can get out and about, so are spending time revisiting the decor or the camper vans, caravans, holiday cottages and 4×4’s.

The use of bolsters in yoga really seems to be taking off. they can be soft of offer a little support and comfort or like this order nice and firm to give maximum support and benefit from moves.

The removable covers on studio bolsters offer the ability to keep things clean and hygienic.

After a busy run up to Christmas and catching up on the custom and personalised design orders. Then I took a couple of weeks out to visit a friend, taking in the vibrant city of Seattle then a drive over to Montana for some skiing at Snowbowl and winter walking in Rattlesnake Canyon and around Como Lake in the Bitterroot Valley.

The art work and olympic sculpture park round Seattle is very inspiring for designs, so expect to see some new product lines from Dizzy Tyke Designs later in the spring.

Lastly an outing to CHSI at NEC Birmingham, a day out with the Etsy Worcestershire team. Great place for new ideas and catching up with other Etsy Sellers.

Time to think about knitting Winter Woolies .….

Now Christmas is over it’s time to get the knitting needles out and get ready for Winter.

No matter if its for you, family, friends or the new grandchild or child on the way, that you’ve just found out about over the holidays.

Wrong time of year to break a wrist at Dizzy Tyke Designs ….

A slight mishap and a fight with a kerb that I hadn’t seen, has meant some elements of production here at Dizzy Tyke Designs has had to take a back seat for a short while. But thanks to the NHS at Worthing and Worcestershire , I’m now plated and screwed back together.

It hasn’t meant any cushions have been delayed, however processing new knitting patterns is now delayed until after Christmas.

As a Yorkshire Lass I will always be a Tyke at heart and my friends keep telling me I’m a bit Dizzy for following my dream to work full time with Yarn, Wool, Fiber and fabric.

Designing and produce high quality, well finished patterns, project packs and off the shelf goods from across the handcraft spectrum for in the home and wearing. I will also undertake bespoke and commissioned work.
